The Honorable Immigration Judge James Worley was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in July 2026. Judge Worley earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1999 from Abilene Christian University and a Juris Doctorate in 2003 from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. From July 2017 to July 2026, he served as an assistant district attorney at the Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Dallas. From June 2015 to July 2017, he was in private practice as a criminal defense attorney in Bedford, Texas. From July 2007 to June 2015, he served as an assistant district attorney at the Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Dallas. From April 2006 to July 2007, he served as an assistant county attorney at the Williamson County Attorney’s Office in Georgetown, Texas. From October 2004 to January 2006, he was an associate attorney at Bailey & Galyen in Bedford, Texas. From April 2004 to October 2004, he was an associate attorney at the Law Office of Robert S. Lenz in Fort Worth, Texas. Judge Worley is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
