Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Ellen Liebowitz earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1987 from the University of Delaware and a Juris Doctor in 1990 from the University of Maryland. She served as senior legal advisor to the chairman of the Board of Immigration Appeals from 2008 to 2016, as senior counsel to the chairman from 2007 to 2008, and as an attorney advisor from 1991 to 2007, following an earlier clerkship with the Circuit Court for Harford County, Maryland. She was appointed a Board Member of the Board of Immigration Appeals in February 2016 and is a member of the Maryland Bar.
