The Honorable Immigration Judge D. Allen Kenny was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in July 2026. Judge Kenny earned a Bachelor of Science in 1986 from the University of Nebraska and a Juris Doctorate in 1993 from the University of Nebraska College of Law. From April 2004 to July 2026, he served as the deputy chief and associate counsel for the Office of Chief Counsel, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in Lincoln, Nebraska. From March 2003 to June 2004, he served as a general attorney with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, DHS, in Omaha, Nebraska. From September 1993 to March 2003, he served as a general attorney with the former Immigration and Naturalization Service in Omaha, Nebraska, and El Paso, Texas. From December 1986 to August 1990, he served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Navy before transferring to the Naval Reserves where he retired at the rank of captain in January 2017. Judge Kenny is a member of the Nebraska State Bar.
