Montana mental health center story sparks criticism

· Great Falls Tribune · By Phil Drake · From the Border Crossing Law Firm media archive.

In a weekly column, the Great Falls Tribune recounts a Helena immigration forum with Shahid Haque, Mayor Wilmot Collins, and Jordon Dyrdahl-Roberts. Shahid discusses dehumanizing language, people who discover status problems late in life, aggressive Border Patrol questioning in Havre, and a growing pattern of immigration applications being rejected.

The forum brought legal expertise, a refugee mayor's experience, and an individual act of conscience into one local conversation. It gave Helena residents practical context for national policy changes that were already affecting their neighbors.
