The Lone Peak Lookout reports an unusual surge of ICE activity in Gallatin County and Big Sky. ICE confirmed seven arrests, while Shahid Haque said he had heard from people caught in dozens of stops and described it as the largest week of roving immigration enforcement he had seen in ten years of Montana practice.
Fear made the operation difficult to document because local Latino residents would not speak on the record. Shahid's calls from potential clients offered one of the few ways to see the scale of an enforcement sweep unfolding across a rural community.
