The Bozeman Daily Chronicle visits MIJA's annual Belgrade event bringing the Mexican Consulate and other service providers closer to immigrant families. More than 120 people obtained passports, identification, birth records, health screenings, dental care, and other assistance that might otherwise require a long trip to Boise.
The event shows MIJA's practical community work alongside its litigation. In a large rural state, bringing documentation and health services to Gallatin County removed travel and cost barriers for families who had few nearby resources.
