The Boulder Monitor reports on Shahid Haque's motion to obtain the complete investigative file concerning Audemio Orozco-Ramirez's alleged sexual assault in the Jefferson County jail. With the criminal investigations closed, Shahid sought the medical, DNA, video, interview, and other records so his client could review and respond to the evidence; the county asked that any release remain confidential.
The dispute over access to the file shows why the civil case continued after the county declared the matter closed. Shahid argued that his client could not challenge the official account without seeing the material used to reach it.
