The Associated Press reports on President Barack Obama's 2014 executive actions offering temporary deportation protection and work permits to many parents of U.S. citizens and expanding DACA. For the firm, the announcement had immediate consequences: families Shahid had advised for years suddenly had a possible temporary protection that had not existed under the statute.
